Mais uma daquelas notícias de fazer corar os Velhos do Restelo (e os novos, que também os há): na mesma linha do post anterior, e inserido também no projecto Love Libraries, a Birmingham Central Library juntou jovens desfavorecidos e um artista local e criou o projecto Urban Art. Como funciona? É fácil: perdem-se os pudores e graffitam-se algumas das paredes da biblioteca, com inspiração nos serviços prestados. Para além do resultado que se pode ver nas imagens, cita-se:“With the support of a local artist, the group has used their artistic talents to transform two grey concrete walls at the rear of the library into a welcoming graffiti display to attract more young people inside. The group was inspired by library services – books and story characters, magazines, membership cards and computers with free internet access to produce a vibrant display of urban art, which can be enjoyed by all who walk past.”
“Great idea of Birmingham Central Library to put art on the wall outside, which got us into the library! Really good work and most importantly, the youngsters really felt a connection.”
